Public Session Examines Domestic, Community Violence

Representatives from three local, anti-violence organizations will address domestic and community violence during a free, public health and wellness lecture hosted at 6 p.m. Dec. 18 by 100 Black Men of Syracuse and Black Nurses Rock of Syracuse. Vera House, OGs Against Gun Violence and Mothers Against Gun Violence will have spokespeople present to speak about combating violence, including domestic and street violence, in the Syracuse community, as well as answer audience questions.

The 90-minute event, the second in the current series of public health discussions sponsored by the two organizations, will be held at the South Side Innovation Center, 2610 South Salina St. in Syracuse. Previously, the 100 and Black Nurses Rock hosted a series of seven public health lectures through the first half of 2017.

Admission is free, and no advance registration is required for all lectures. The current series, which will cover a variety of community health topics, continues bi-monthly through May 28, 2018.
